Described by most Afghans as Qandahar's backwater. In fact, locals will tell you that the only historic event that ever took place here was Mullah Omar's birth. Although the province suffers from an abysmally low literacy rate (perhaps the lowest in the country) there's no shortage of heart, generosity, stunning landscapes, and fresh fruit. Spent a memorable week in the capital Tirin Kot, sleeping in a courtyard under the stars.
