Mianwali is nestled precariously on the border between Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and Punjab. An hour south of Mianwali was Kundian, our ultimate destination. A village apparently in the middle of nowhere, Kundian features a spectacular Naqshbandi Sufi khaniqah with a collection (itself over a century old) of several thousand rare manuscripts. Expect a healthy mix of (extremely friendly) Punjabi and Pushtun disciples and pilgrims from Afghanistan, the Federally Administered Tribal areas, and across Punjab.
